The World’s Best Cities For Inexpensive Beer

, The World’s Best Cities For Inexpensive BeerSummer is here and many of us have begun planning our getaways to exotic locations and cool places to enjoy beer.

Unfortunately beer prices can vary wildly internationally, and we recently warned you about pricy beer cities you need to avoid. But drinking beer in some cool cities can be affordable – and here are the world’s five best cities to visit, if you’re planning on having more than one beer.

Last month The Deutsche Bank released a special report where they mapped out the prices on widely products and services around the world.

And happily they included beer in their market research, so now you can plan for the cities you NEED to visit this summer, especially those of you prone to “power drinking.”

Using data from Expatistan, a site that tracks cost-of-living expenses in the “expat” neighborhoods (read more expensive tourist areas) in over 200 countries, they came up with the Top 5 cities, with the most affordable beer in the world. And thankfully they translated those prices into US dollars.

Travelers searching for that bargain beer, need to book the first flight they can to Prague, because in that beautiful Czech Republic enclave will only cost you $1.80! We can assure you they are not talking craft beer here, but still at $180 a pint you can upgrade your hostel accommodations.

South Africa has two major cities, (Johannesburg and Cape Town) where an evening spent drinking is not going to wipe you out. Lisbon, Portugal and Manila in the Philippines (both cool cities) round this important ranking.

  1. Prague, Czech Republic; $1.80
  2. Johannesburg, South Africa; $2.30
  3. Lisbon, Portugal; $2.70
